Nutrition Network Unveils Its Transformative 2026 Curriculum: A New Era in Metabolic Health Education Begins

Nutrition Network has officially announced the launch of its groundbreaking 2026 curriculum, marking what may be the organisation’s most ambitious and future-shaping year to date.

During a global live broadcast hosted by Tamzyn Murphy, RD, MSc, Head of Content, and Jayne Bullen, Managing Director of Nutrition Network, the team revealed a year-long line-up of advanced trainings, certifications, and practitioner development pathways designed to redefine the future of metabolic health.

In what Murphy called “the announcement of the future of metabolic health education,” the session highlighted how Nutrition Network is stepping into 2026 with renewed clarity, deeper scientific focus, and a rapidly expanding global curriculum committee shaping each program.

Looking Back to Move Forward: A Year of Expansion & Specialisation

Reflecting on 2025, Bullen described a pivotal year marked by diversification and bold expansion into highly specialised, sometimes controversial, areas of metabolic health.

Key highlights included:

  • Carnivore Training — A first-of-its-kind, evidence-based program filling a global educational void.
  • Menopause & Perimenopause Training — Surpassing expectations with extraordinary engagement from both female and male practitioners.
  • Cardiovascular Disease Training — A deep-dive, technical program addressing this misunderstood metabolic condition.
  • World Nutrition Summit — Reimagined under The Noakes Foundation and hosted in Cape Town, with overwhelming global attendance.
  • Rapid growth in Sugar Addiction Certification through collaboration with Bitten Jonsson — signalling a global shift in recognising and treating addictive eating behaviours.

Murphy noted that while topics like carnivore and menopause captured public attention, the cardiovascular training remains foundational:
“You cannot confidently promote therapeutic carbohydrate restriction without understanding cardiovascular disease. It’s essential science for every practitioner.”

2026 Curriculum Overview: A Year Built for Impact

Murphy presented the 2026 roadmap at “a rate of knots,” showcasing 12 months of strategic programming. While the full curriculum extends across advanced topics, collaborations, and flagship annual launches, Nutrition Network emphasised the importance of starting 2026 strong with four major pillars:

1. SUGAR® Certification (23 January Start)

Diagnose. Treat. Transform.

Returning in January due to unprecedented demand, the SUGAR® Certification provides the world’s only comprehensive diagnostic and treatment training for sugar and processed food addiction. Powered by the expertise of Bitten Jonsson, the program has quickly become one of Nutrition Network’s most transformative educational tracks.

“Sugar addiction may be the biggest contributor to chronic modern disease,” Murphy stated. “Practitioners must be able to identify and treat it, not just hand out meal plans and hope they stick.”

Bullen reinforced the urgency:
“Lasting remission depends on behaviour change, trauma awareness, and understanding addiction neurobiology. SUGAR® is foundational for anyone working in metabolic health.”

2. New & Fully Revamped Coach Certification (Launching Mid-February)

Metabolic Health Coaching, Reinvented.

One of the most anticipated launches of 2026, the new Coach Certification Program has undergone a complete reimagining to meet the growing complexity of modern coaching.

The updated curriculum now features six expert Nutrition Network Coach Practitioner lecturers bringing specialist knowledge in:

  • Communication & interpersonal dynamics — Debbie Garratt
  • Behaviour change science — Eli Bromley
  • Exercise and movement coaching — Peter Cummings
  • Child & family health considerations — Emine Sporel Özakat
  • Coaching for medical conditions — Faranak Amini
  • Cultural & ethical sensitivity in coaching — Shashikant Iyengar

These new modules sit alongside Nutrition Network’s established metabolic and nutritional foundations, forming the most comprehensive coaching pathway NN has ever offered.

“We think we’ve finally arrived at exactly what a metabolic health coach needs to be,” Bullen shared. “This is deeply connected to our physician-led approach but tailored perfectly for coaches worldwide.”

3. Gut Health Training (Launching 28 February)

The Most Anticipated Training.

Gut disorders now dominate clinical caseloads globally, and Nutrition Network’s long-awaited Gut Health Training brings together cutting-edge research, pioneering experts, and integrative frameworks to guide practitioners through the most rapidly evolving area of modern health science.

Topics include:

  • Microbiome science and testing
  • IBS, SIBO & functional gut disorders
  • Gut–brain axis & mental health
  • Gut–metabolism interactions
  • Circadian rhythm & motility
  • Fertility, hormones & the gut
  • Physical activity and gut function
  • Ancestral microbiomes (with Mary Ruddick)
  • Industrial food systems, pesticides & soil degradation (with Dr. Pran Yoganathan)
  • Liver health, leaky gut, probiotics, prebiotics & myth-busting

Murphy explained:
“Traditional gut advice is outdated. Science is moving fast, and our training reflects the nuance practitioners desperately need.”

Bullen added:
“Medications, GLP-1 agonists, chronic stress, trauma, industrial foods — they all affect gut function. This training helps practitioners make sense of a highly complex system.”

4. Fellowship Offer (January Launch)

Nutrition Network’s highest-level structured pathway returns, offering practitioners a premium membership experience and access to major flagship trainings throughout 2026.

1 March 2026: Two Major Launches Transforming the Landscape

After an extremely successful 12-week pilot, Whole Body Health officially launches on 1 March.

Heart Health Book Release

A first-of-its-kind translational e-book bridging Nutrition Network’s advanced cardiovascular training with practical, accessible guidance for clinicians and the public.

Bullen described it as:
“A bridge between cardiologist-level science and everyday understanding — the book I want on my own shelf.”

Why 2026 Matters: A Breakthrough Year for Metabolic Health Education

Both leaders emphasised that 2026 represents a turning point.

Bullen noted:
“We are finally at the stage where science, expertise, and demand have caught up with the urgency of metabolic disease. The world is changing fast, and so is our curriculum.”

Murphy added:
“The early-year lineup — Fellowship, SUGAR®, the new Coach Certification, and Gut Health — gives practitioners the strongest possible start to the year. These are the pillars of metabolic health practice in 2026.”

A Year of Gratitude & Anticipation

Nutrition Network closed the event with heartfelt thanks to members, practitioners, and global learners who helped make 2025 a milestone year.

Murphy concluded:
“We are incredibly excited for what 2026 holds for our community, your practice, your health, and the people you serve. We cannot wait to walk the next year with you.”
