CANCER A METABOLIC DISEASE
Cancer: A Metabolic Disease, now in Partnership with The Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health

In the dynamic realm of cancer treatment, a paradigm shift is underway, challenging conventional approaches and introducing innovative strategies rooted in metabolic science. Traditionally perceived solely through a genetic lens, cancer’s complexity extends beyond our genetic makeup. Modern research reveals intricate connections between cancer development and contemporary lifestyle factors, highlighting its nature as a metabolic disease (1). This understanding lays the groundwork for novel therapeutic interventions that focus on disrupting the metabolic pathways fueling cancer growth.

We are pleased to announce our newest online training elective, Cancer: A Metabolic Disease, developed in partnership with the Metabolic Terrain Institution of Health (MTHI). The MTHI is a 501C3 nonprofit organization that provides funding to cancer patients and education to the community and is building a metabolic integrative cancer treatment hospital. Their mission is to ingrain the Terrain-based treatment methodology into cancer treatment and preventative care through practice, science, research, education, training, collaboration, and funding, and are dedicated to finding the root cause of cancer.

We’ve decided to partner up with this important institution as they align directly with our mission here at Nutrition Network – that of actively sharing the knowledge, research, analysis, and practical skills that already exist in the area of Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction and it’s application to the treatment and management of cancer, with those wanting to learn more and implement these strategies into their clinical or professional practice.

This new online training is presented by national and international medical and allied healthcare experts in their field, to provide participants with an understanding of the mechanisms underlying cancer as a modern and metabolic disease, how to implement TCR and fasting for cancer treatment, and give them the tools to understand, manage and treat their cancer patients holistically. Now open for enrollment at a discounted, early bird rate of 20% off. This discount is valid until the launch date on 29 February 2024. At the forefront of these novel approaches is Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction (TCR). Targeting cancer through TCR involves a precision-focused disruption of the metabolic milieu that sustains tumor growth (2). This nuanced strategy, increasingly recognized as a powerful adjunct to conventional treatments, minimizes collateral damage to healthy cells, enhancing treatment efficacy while minimizing side effects.

In tandem with TCR, fasting has emerged as a complementary strategy in the holistic management of cancer. Fasting induces metabolic shifts, such as increased autophagy and ketogenesis, creating an environment hostile to cancer cells while promoting the resilience of healthy cells (3). This dual approach leverages the metabolic vulnerabilities of cancer cells, enhancing the effectiveness of traditional treatments.

To empower healthcare practitioners across disciplines, including doctors, nurses, dietitians, nutritionists, and other allied health professionals, an online training is set to launch on February 28. Presented by national and international medical and allied healthcare experts, this training aims to provide participants with a profound understanding of cancer as a modern and metabolic disease. It will delve into the mechanisms underlying cancer, the implementation of TCR and fasting in cancer treatment, and equip practitioners with tools for holistic cancer patient management.

As we look toward the future of cancer treatment, the integration of TCR and fasting marks a promising frontier. The upcoming online training not only signifies a milestone in education but also represents a collective step towards a holistic approach to cancer care. By arming healthcare practitioners with knowledge and tools, we move closer to a paradigm where cancer is not just treated but understood and managed in a comprehensive, patient-centric manner. This training is presented by national and international medical and allied healthcare experts in their field.

Through their guidance and expertise, learners will gain a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in implementing and optimizing this approach, paving the way for improved health outcomes and a transformative understanding of the role carbohydrates play in our overall well-being.
